The Nashville Predators sit dead last in the NHL, and things took a turn for the worse during practice as the players began fighting each other on the ice.
Even with the addition of star players to an already-stellar core including Filip Forsberg, Roman Josi, and Juuse Saros, the team has struggled out of the gate, posting a dreadful 6-11-3 record, even worse than the Pittsburgh Penguins, who everyone knows have also been through a terrible start to the season.
After a big hit, the two were separated following a shoving match and argument that included very heated words being exchanged. While not too terribly dramatic, according to Daugherty, Evangelista was visibly upset.
The tension remained high even after practice had ended. Though both players simply skated away after the incident, reports had it that they continued to exchange sharp words before leaving the ice.
McCarron kept mum as he was out of practice, while Evangelista expressed regret later over the confrontation, knowing the incident wasn't ideal.
«We were doing the corner battle drill, but yeah I probably shouldn't have done that. (McCarron's) a good dude,» Evangelista said.
