This season has been an up-and-down one for the Montreal Canadiens, but after an
overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres, they've now won five straight games as they look to get back into the Stanley Cup Playoff race.
There wasn't just that to celebrate in the Canadiens locker room on Monday night however, as veteran forward Brendan Gallagher revealed some incredible news after the game.
"I'm a dad now. It's been a week, so it's still new. Obviously, a little less sleep than I'm used to, but it's been awesome."
The 32-year old Edmonton native has spent his entire career in Montreal dating back to his debut in 2012, and while the success on the ice hasn't quite been there during that stretch, this is incredible news for the veteran.
He would go on to add that his sleep has not been the same since he became a dad, but given what every parent goes through, he's as happy as he could be.
"We're learning as we go, but so far, we love every second of it."
Ultimately, we hope that Gallagher can get the sleep he needs to be competitive on the ice throughout the rest of the season, but we send our congratulations to the 32-year old veteran whose life has now officially changed for the better.
