Yesterday Boston College goaltender and Montreal Canadiens prospect Jacob Fowler broke an impressive record that sets him among the best of all time in college hockey.
Last night he posted a solid performance which resulted in the Eagles defeating the Quinnipiac Bobcats 5-4 and granting BC an entry to the 2024 Frozen Four.
With that win, Fowler now officially has the most wins all-time by an NCAA freshman goaltender in a single season with 31.
Jacob Fowler earns his 31st win and sets the NCAA single-season record for most wins by a freshman goalie! 👏
Fowler now has a record of 31-5-1, a .924 sv%, and a 2.20 GAA. Mind-boggling numbers for a freshman goalie.
Fowler is also now tied for fourth all-time for most wins in a single season for an NCAA goaltender tying with NHL legend Ryan Miller.
After winning his 31st game today, Jacob Fowler is now tied with Ryan Miller (Michigan State 2000-2001) for 4th most wins in one season in NCAA history.
With two more games for BC to play, Fowler could potentially move into third place for all-time single-season wins behind only Dryden McKay and Yaniv Perets, both of whom play in the ECHL right now.
