Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes is being prohibited by his team for the time being from speaking with media members after their games.
After their recent game against the New York Islanders, the Montreal Canadiens are making a puzzling move involving their young goalie.
Jakub Dobes, who recently exposed a player on the Islanders, believed to be Tony DeAngelo, for crossing the line with his trash talk, is being prohibited from speaking with reporters in the locker room after Habs games.
Per Canadiens analyst Jean Nicolas Blanchet, several Canadiens reporters have asked to talk to Dobes, but they were denied their requests.
He was seen on the ice with Marc Denis after Tuesday night's game. Otherwise, he hasn't appeared before the media for several days, even when journalists request him.
This raises a lot of questions. At first glance, it's very strange.
There isn't a single guy on the Canadiens we want to hear more than him. He's funny, sensitive, a real joker, passionate, and endearing. He's always bursting with emotion. It's a joy for the fans. He was so cool with Marc Denis on Tuesday night. And on top of that, he's on fire. In short, he's the one we want to hear. - Jean Nicolas Blanchet

So far this year, Dobes is 23-8-4 with a .896 SV% but no shutouts.
Jakub Dobes Exposed An Islanders Player For Crossing The Line
After their recent game, Dobes said he told the referees that an Islanders player said something that doesn't belong in the realm of routine trash talking.
I heard everything that was going on between the benches. There was something that one player (from NYI) said that shouldn't be said. I just told the referees: 'Please be careful, this stuff doesn't belong in the game. Jakub Dobes
It remains unknown exactly who the player was or what was said.
