Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky fired a shot at media members during his interview on locker room clean out day at Bell Centre following their postseason loss to the Capitals.
The year is over for the Montreal Canadiens, having been
defeated in 5 games in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Washington Capitals.
As the team gathered at Bell Centre for locker room clean-out day and to give their final interviews before breaking for the summer, forward Juraj Slafkovsky appeared to deliver a subtle jab at media members.
When asked if he feels annoyed at having to answer questions from reporters, he responded (with a smile) that he doesn't mind normal questions.
If you ask normal questions then it's fine. But it's a part of it, I'm used to it and I don't find it annoying.
Slafkovsky then referenced a question he had been asked earlier in the year about whether he'd buy a ticket to watch a game in the middle of a Canadiens' losing streak that he found off-putting.
I remember someone asking me if I'd still buy a ticket to a Montreal game after we lost like 2 or 3 games in a row, I think that's a weird question to ask a 20-year old guy when we're still in the rebuild, or whatever you want to call it.
Slafkovsky had a career-best 51 points (18G, 33A) this year, helping the Canadiens secure their 1st berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs since their miracle run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2021.
During the playoffs, he scored twice in the 5 games he and his teammates played against Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals.
