LA Kings youngster Arthur Kaliyev has reportedly asked to be traded per insider David Pagnotta putting GM Rob Blake in a tough spot moving forward.

Back in 2019, the LA Kings drafted Arthur Kaliyev 33rd overall after he scored 51 goals and 102 points in his draft year. Since then, the offensive winger has struggled to adapt to the NHL level playing in 188 total games and potting only 71 points, a far cry from his junior days.

Insider David Pagnotta dropped major news on Kaliyev as he has reportedly requested a trade away from LA.

"The Los Angeles Kings will look to trade Arty Kaliyev again this summer. The pending RFA has asked for a trade and GM Rob Blake will try to move him perhaps package him in a deal for an upgrade elsewhere on the roster." - David Pagnotta

Kaliyev requesting a trade is not too surprising as he has averaged under 12 minutes a game for the past two seasons and has seen a general lack of playing time getting scratched for every single game in the Kings' playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers.

If he does get moved, he will look for more of an opportunity and hopefully slot into his new team's top six as one of their better offensive weapons.
