Corey Perry joined the LA Kings this off-season, but before playing a game for them, he's departed the ice following a reported injury before training camp.

The Los Angeles Kings were very busy under new General Manager Ken Holland this off-season, with the team making several moves, some good, and some that were highly criticized by fans.
One of the pickups that the team made not only improved them, but weakened their biggest rival, as the Kings signed 40-year old Corey Perry, most recently with the Edmonton Oilers to a deal in free agency.

Perry injured before training camp

Unfortunately, things have gone down hill for Perry, as a report has now revealed that he suffered an injury at a recent practice, and had to be helped off the ice in a wheelchair just days before practice.
There's little information to give on the situation at the moment, as it's unclear how this happened or what part of Perry's body was injured, but given the significant financial investment they made in him, this isn't the way the Kings wanted things to go.
Last season, Perry tallied 19 goals and 30 points for the Oilers, but he brought the grit and the toughness that the team needed, and ultimately, he played a major role in Edmonton's success, something that LA were looking for as they look to overcome the Oilers in the post-season.
We will bring updates on Perry's situation as soon as they become available, but for right now, this is a nightmare scenario for Los Angeles, as they were hoping that Perry would be a key piece of their top-six, and if he is out for any length of time, it will be a brutal blow for the team.
