Brad Marchand is set to hit free agency in the summer after a trade to Florida, and now he's hinted what his plans are in latest interview.

The Florida Panthers got an absolute steal when they landed Brad Marchand from the Boston Bruins at the trade deadline, and with him alongside the rest of their star power, there's optimism that they can go deep in the Stanley Cup Playoffs again in 2025.
While the team is banged up, they're expected to be healthy when the post-season arrives, and unsurprisingly, this means that Marchand is completely focused on the rest of this season.
When he was asked about his potential next team ahead of free agency in the summer, he reiterated that point, noting that he doesn't know when he'll get the chance to play on a loaded squad like this again.
«I'm not worried about next year at all. In this game, in this league, you need to take every day and enjoy it. You never know when you're going to get an opportunity to be on a team like this again.»
What that suggests is that Marchand isn't 100% sure his next suitor in free agency can both pay him what he believes he has earned on his final NHL contract as well as giving him the opportunity to be a part of such a loaded lineup, but with so many teams having plenty of salary cap, there will be suitors for him.
At this point, it's not clear which teams Marchand favours, as the results of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs could play a role in how he chooses his next team in free agency, but at this point, there's a good chance he may have to choose between the money or being on a loaded team on his next deal.
