Gabriel Landeskog Joins New Team After Months of Absence

The Colorado Avalanche have long been anticipating the return of their captain Gabriel Landeskog, and while there's been some setbacks, there's still optimism that he'll take the ice as their captain once again in the NHL.

The latest move suggests that may not be too far away, as Landeskog left the Avalanche and instead donned a Colorado Eagles jersey at their AHL affiliates latest practice, with signs continue to show that a return could be on the horizon for the 32-year old.

As we know, Landeskog hasn't skated in the NHL since his team won the Stanley Cup back in 2022, and with no one else taking that C in his absence, it's been clear from the beginning that the organization believes his return could be coming very, very soon.

This latest move did nothing but stoke the flames of a potential return in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, with the Avalanche likely to do battle with their fierce division rivals the Dallas Stars in the first-round this season.

Sure, Landeskog may never get back to 100% of the player that he once was as the Avalanche landed their third Stanley Cup in franchise history back in 2022, but given his leadership on and off the ice as well as his value to the middle-six of this lineup, any return could potentially spark this incredibly talented team once again, and if the signals are to be believed, a return could come any day now for the Avalanche captain.
