Oilers organization adds accomplished coach to help develop Edmonton's next wave

The Bakersfield Condors are adding to their coaching staff, and the move is worth paying attention to if you follow the Oilers organization closely.

According to a post on X, the Condors have brought on Duncan Dalmao as an assistant coach, joining head coach Colin Chaulk's staff ahead of the new AHL season.

Dalmao is not a new name for people who follow the ECHL closely.

He has spent recent seasons as head coach of the Indy Fuel, building a reputation as someone who can get the most out of developing players at the pro level.

Before moving into coaching, Dalmao had a long professional playing career as a defenceman, including a stint that earned him ECHL Defenceman of the Year honors.

That kind of background, both as a player who understood the defensive side of the game and as a bench boss who has already run his own team, gives the Condors staff another experienced set of eyes.

Bakersfield serves as Edmonton's top development ground, and every addition to that coaching staff has a direct line to how prospects are being taught and evaluated.
