Patrick Kane Desperate to Make 2026 Olympics: 'The One Thing That's Missing'
Patrick Kane has done it all in the NHL, but now he's opened up on his bid for the Olympics and why it's the one thing he's missing in his career.
Patrick Kane has been a superstar in the National Hockey League for quite some time, becoming who many would say is the greatest US born NHL player in the history of the league.
In his time in the NHL, Kane has won three Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks, cementing himself as one of the greatest players in this era of the league alongside Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin and others.
Kane's Drive to Capture Elusive Olympic Gold with Team USA
However, given the NHL banning players from the Olympics for much of his prime, Kane has yet to play best-on-best hockey at the Olympics, with that potentially changing in 2026.
Now, in a recent interview, Kane has opened up on that possibility and why representing Team USA at the Olympics is the one big thing he's missing from his NHL career.
"The one thing that's kind of missing is a gold in best-on-best, right?
It would be fun to have that opportunity."

That comment comes from Olympic Orientation Camp for Team USA, and while Kane isn't the talent he once was, he's still hoping to earn the chance to be on this roster, rather than be given it because of his legacy.
"I don't want that to be a thing, either, where you're getting selected for the team because of all that stuff. You want to be selected for the player you are and what you can bring to the team."
How the 2026 Winter Games Could Define Patrick Kane's Legacy
Already, Kane is one of the most respected players in the NHL today, and given his three Stanley Cup wins, his Hart Trophy and four All-Star appearances, he'll go down as an all-time great.
Winning Olympic gold would be an incredible boost to that legacy as well, and given that his career is winding down, it's likely his last opportunity, so don't expect him to waste it if he can earn his way onto this roster.
