The Red Wings want Dylan Larkin to add more teams to his 10-team trade list, but his camp has already said no. Here is where the standoff stands.
The Dylan Larkin standoff just picked up another layer, and it isn't a friendly one.
According to Pierre LeBrun, the Red Wings have asked Larkin's camp to widen his approved trade list again.
Detroit feels it has run out of workable options with the 10 teams already on it.
The club wants to talk with six to eight more teams where it believes a better package exists, including Montreal, Boston, Los Angeles and Buffalo.
Larkin's camp isn't moving
The response from agent Pat Brisson's side was blunt.
LeBrun reports Larkin's camp told Detroit again over the last few days that the list already grew from three teams to 10, and the Red Wings can work with those clubs.
"No, we gave you 10 teams, which was more than the three teams we gave you at the beginning.”

Those 10 teams are Florida, Minnesota, Vegas, Dallas, Washington, Carolina, Utah, Tampa Bay, New Jersey and Colorado.
Interim GM Shawn Horcoff has already admitted it's difficult to get a deal done with that group.
Where this leaves Detroit
Time is part of the problem. Larkin, 30, has made it clear he won't play again until he's traded, and Detroit is holding him out until a deal happens.
He's signed at $8.7 million per season through 2031 with a full no-trade clause, so the power sits with him.
The Red Wings can't force a destination.
That leaves Horcoff with two paths.
He can lower his price on one of the 10 teams, or he can wait and hope Larkin blinks.
Boston has reportedly called, so interest is out there, but Larkin hasn't budged.
A center who scored 34 goals and 67 points in 74 games last season should have a real market.
Right now, the list is the problem.
