The Dallas Stars have high hopes for the 2025/26 season, but on Wednesday those hopes took a hit as they've lost Tyler Seguin, likely for the rest of the season.
The Dallas Stars have been one of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League as of late, posting a record of 17-5-5 through their first 27 games as they sit in second place in the Central Division standings.
They've had this success on the back of their depth and star power, with the team boasting a great blend of youth and experience in a lineup that's ready to take the final step towards the Stanley Cup Finals.
Tyler Seguin to miss extended time with an ACL injury
Unfortunately, the team have now received some heartbreaking news, as veteran winger Tyler Seguin is potentially to miss the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign as he suffered an
ACL injury during this collision with New York's Vladislav Gavrikov on Tuesday night.
This is a major loss for the Stars, as Seguin was producing well this season with 7 goals and 17 points across those 27 games, but for the second straight season, he's now set to miss extended time with an injury.
At 33-years of age, Seguin has dealt with plenty of injuries over the course of his NHL career, and now, he's set for another extended absence that will effect the chances for this Stars team in 2025/26.
This is yet another injury for the Stars that have had some brutal luck this season, with Thomas Harley, Matt Duchene, Lian Bischel and Nils Lundqvist all currently sidelined, and while there's a very, very slim chance Seguin returns this season, as of right now, it's not looking good for Dallas.
