Carter Hart made his return to the NHL on Tuesday for the Vegas Golden Knights, and in doing so, he was given a very warm reception by the fans.
After two years away from the National Hockey League, Carter Hart made his return with the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night in a shootout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.
While his return comes with plenty of controversy, it appears as though Vegas and their fans have already moved on from whatever baggage comes along with Hart, as he was greeted warmly by their fans.
Hart opens up on the warm welcome in Vegas
That was something that didn't escape Hart either, as he
addressed his return following the game, noting that he barely took it in until the anthems as he reflected upon the journey back to the NHL.
I think just skating out the first time onto the ice wearing a Golden Knights sweater is an amazing feeling. It didn't really sink in until the national anthem. Just looking around and that feeling you're back playing.
Yeah, it's been a really difficult journey to get back, one I wouldn't have been able to do without my family and friends. I'm just so happy to be playing the game again.
Following the victory, Hart was mobbed by his teammates as he led them to victory, showing that at the very least, he's heavily supported by those fans and players in Vegas.
Only time will tell if the rest of the fans around the league are happy with him returning, but for now, he's got plenty of support at home, and for Hart, it appears as though that's all he needs.
