The Dallas Stars are facing elimination in Game 5, but with the announcement of the officials for the game, they may have the advantage given recent history, bringing down plenty of criticism on NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

The Western Conference Finals could end on Thursday with the Edmonton Oilers holding a 3-1 series lead over the Dallas Stars, but at this point, the series remains far from over.
That may be the case after Game 5 as well, as some Oilers fans have called out Gary Bettman and the league for their appointment of the two officials in this game: Wes McCauley and Chris Rooney.
Why have the league been called out? Because over the last three seasons, the Stars have a ridiculous 20-1-3 record with these officials in charge, and with the NHL likely looking to extend this series, some fans have put two and two together and started asking questions.
While some fans have taken that route, others remain confident, noting how good Stuart Skinner has been against the Stars in this series, and if he remains that way, Edmonton should be incredibly confident that they can close this series out in either five or six games.
With a star studded lineup, the Oilers shouldn't be too worried about the officials in any game, especially given the physical nature in which they've played with in the post-season thus far, they have every chance to win this game.
Now though, we'll wait and see if McCauley and Rooney have a major impact on the outcome here, because if they do and Dallas get this series back to six games, they've got every chance to complete the comeback from 3-1 down.
