Mason Marchment frustrated with the NHL after no goal call
All eyes were on Mason Marchment in game six overtime when he scored the series winner, well, so he thought. The goal got called back and boy was he unhappy about it.
Last night the Dallas Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche in second overtime with a Matt Duchene winner against his former team of nine years. However the Stars scored before that, but it was called back. Mason Marchment called out the NHL after controversial decision.
"The explanation I got was that [Matt Duchene]'s ass was over the line," said Marchment. "His feet were outside but his ass was over the line."
Marchment's comment about what he believes really happened is damning for the integrity of the NHL.
"Yeah I think they honestly didn't want to make it a deciding goal," said Marchment.
Marchment, like many fans and pundits, feels changes need to be made.
"I think there's gotta be some sort of standard you know?" said Marchment. "You can't push a guy into your own goalie and it not be goaltender interference. There's just gotta be some sort of standard."
Mason Marchment on the explanation he got about the no-goal call with Matt Duchene: «That Duchy's ass was over the line. His feet were outside, but his ass was over the line then he got pushed in think honestly they didn't want to make it a deciding goal.»
I'm sure the Stars got over it, however shall the Avalanche ended up winning, it would've been a whole different story.
