The Colorado Avalanche currently have their backs against the wall in the Western Conference Finals and now comments from head coach Jared Bednar on defenseman Cale Makar is turning heads.
The Colorado Avalanche came into the Western Conference Finals having not lost a game and looking like a clear favorite to win the Stanley Cup.
However, the surprising loss of star defenseman Cale Makar has drastically shifted their luck as the Avs now find themselves down 2-0 in their series against the Vegas Golden Knights.
With the sudden and clear shift in success without Makar many fans and analyses are wondering when the star Canadian will be back in the lineup.
Head coach Jared Bednar was recently asked about Makar's return timeline and sparked controversy by almost placing blame on Makar for not playing through his injury.

During a recent press conference, Bednar outright said that it is entirely up to Makar as to when he comes back.
It's gonna be Cale's decision on if he's coming back. He's doing all the work. I don't make that decision for him.
This quote seems to indicate that Makar has been medically cleared by doctors to return to action but is holding himself out for some reason.
If this is the case, then this media call out from Bednar could be a public push to get Makar back in the lineup regardless if he is 100% or not.
The Avalanche will take the ice for Game 3 against the Golden Knights tomorrow night hoping to take back control of the series.
As puck drop approaches, it will be interesting to see if Makar is in the lineup or if he misses yet another crucial game.
