Today, the Colorado Avalanche have provided an update on head coach Jared Bednar after being hospitalized due to an injury suffered during last night’s game.
The Colorado Avalanche are on the way to yet another Stanley Cup Playoff appearance and last night hosted the Vegas Golden Knights.
What was expected to be a great matchup between two talented teams turned into a nightmare quickly after Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar was hit in the face by a puck on a Keegan Kolesar dump in attempt.
After being struck, Bednar was taken to the locker room at which time the training staff decided the Avs bench boss would need a trip to the hospital for further testing.
After being evaluated the team has now announced Bednar will be out for the next several games due to his injuries.

According to the announcement made by the Avalanche, Bednar suffered facial fractures and an eye injury that will keep him out for at least the remainder of the regular season.
Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar will not accompany the team on their upcoming two-game road trip due to facial fractures and a corneal abrasion. He will not require surgery at this time and is expected to make a full recovery.
In his absence, the Avalanche will turn to assistant coaches Nolan Pratt and Dave Hakstol who will share head coaching duties.
Avalanche assistant coaches Nolan Pratt and Dave Hakstol will coach the team in Edmonton and Calgary.
All things considered in this terrible situation, it seems Bednar avoided the worst injuries possible and will be able to lead his team into the Stanley Cup Playoffs where the Avalanche will hope to go on a deep run.
