The Chicago Blackhawks' odds of winning the 1st overall pick revealed
The Chicago Blackhawks have been quite poor this season and now have relatively high odds of landing the 2024 1st overall pick, presumably Macklin Celebrini.
This year has been rather brutal for the Chicago Blackhawks. They have managed a measly 23 wins through 80 games and are a lock for finishing second-last in the NHL, only a few points ahead of the abysmal San Jose Sharks.
That means that they are confirmed to have the 2nd best odds of winning the 2024 draft lottery and picking Macklin Celebrini at the draft. The Blackhawks will have a 13.5% chance of picking first, a 14.1% chance at picking second, a 30.7% chance at picking third, and a 41.7% chance of picking fourth, the lowest they will possibly pick.
The Blackhawks and the Sharks are not the only teams to be locked into their slots with the Anaheim Ducks and the Columbus Blue Jackets being locked in at 3rd worst and 4th worst as well.
#sjsharks are Slackin' for Macklin. San Jose locked in 32nd place and best #NHLDraft Lottery Odds for Hobey Baker winner Macklin Celebrini.
#Blackhawks (31st), #NHLDucks (30th), #CBJ (29th) set. There are a lot of ping pong balls available this week.
As it stands, there is a 60% chance that one of these four teams will land the 1st overall pick with the remaining odds being split between the seven other teams who finish from 5th worst to 11th worst.
If the Blackhawks do win the 1st overall pick, they will become the first team to pick 1st overall for two straight years since the Edmonton Oilers in 2011 and 2012.
