Kyle Davidson comments on the Patrick Kane back to Chicago rumor

Recently there has been speculation that Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson will bring in Patrick Kane to mentor Connor Bedard and he has now commented on the rumors.

Two of the biggest names in Chicago Blackhawks history are former first-overall picks, Connor Bedard and Patrick Kane. Kane led the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups while Bedard has years ahead of him to match Kane's feats.

Recently there have been rumors that the Blackhawks could bring back Kane next year as a mentor to Bedard and as a linemate for him. GM Kyle Davidson spoke with the media today and was quick to deny them.

Just talked to Kyle Davidson at the NHL Combine in Buffalo.

Notably, he shot down any possibility of a Patrick Kane reunion:

"He did have a really good year. I think we're all really happy to see that... [But] we made some really tough decisions on some longstanding players. I don't foresee us going back on that."

The Blackhawks will now look down other avenues to see if they can find some elite talent to play alongside Bedard for years to come whether that is free agency or the 2024 NHL draft.
