The NHL offseason is months full of speculation last night the speculation began for the Carolina Hurricanes after their loss now one of their top defensemen could be leaving according to his dad.
The Carolina Hurricanes had their season come to an end after a heartbreaking Game 6 loss to the New York Rangers. Now the team heads into the offseason with a lot of questions about the future. One of the biggest is regarding the future of defenseman Brett Pesce whose contract has officially expired once July 1st comes.
Now a new post on X from his father Brian Pesce seems to confirm Brett's future. The post seems to indicate that the Pesce family expects Brett Pesce to be on a new team after the upcoming off-season. In response to a family friend from Carolina Brian Pesce says they will miss special traditions when Brett is on a new team.
Will certainly come to Raleigh when Brett's on a different team and keep our tradition alive; vodka shots on me!
This seems to indicate that at least at the moment the Carolina Hurricanes and Brett Pesce are expected to part ways with one another. If they do that means one of the top two-way defensemen in hockey will be available and likely highly sought after.
