Tonight, the Carolina Hurricanes were informed that defenseman Charles-Alexis Legault one of Carolina's most promising defensive prospects has been suspended.
The Hurricanes organization is thriving deep into the NHL season with Carolina in the Eastern Conference finals and their AHL affiliate the Chicago Wolves still alive as well.
With both teams still playing, top prospects who would normally be up and practicing with the Hurricanes are still battling in the Calder Cup playoffs in the AHL including defenseman Charles-Alexis Legault.
During the Wolves most recent game, Legault received a penalty for boarding on a hit to Carter Mazur that led to a scrum between the Chicago Wolves and Grand Rapids Griffins.
After the game concluded, it was announced that Legault would have a hearing to discuss potential further discipline.
Now, Legault has officially been punished and received a suspension.

According to a statement put out by the AHL, Legault will miss Game 4 as he has been suspended for one game due to his actions.
The 22-year-old defenseman has been a key to stabilizing the back end for the Wolves this year and did play 12 NHL games with the Hurricanes this season.
With the Wolves having control of the series the loss of Legault is slightly more manageable but still puts a strain on the lineup.
If the Wolves are eliminated at some point before the Hurricanes season ends look for Legault to be one of the first key call-ups to provide much needed depth for Carolina in their quest for the Stanley Cup.
