Rasmus Andersson appears on his way out of Calgary, and now, Elliotte Friedman's latest update, talk has picked up surrounding the talented blue liner.

The Calgary Flames went on a hot streak recently, but despite that, they still sit at 19-22-4 on the season, placing them 30th overall in the league standings after 45 games played.
To most, that would mean this team should pivot and move towards the future of the organization, but thus far, Calgary have shown an unwillingness to do what is necessary to emulate the success of young teams like Montreal.

Rasmus Andersson talks picking up

Despite this unwillingness, they've got several veterans that they can move, with Blake Coleman and Nazem Kadri still having term on their contracts, but the one player they most need to deal is pending UFA Rasmus Andersson.
The talented defenseman has shown that he's not going to sign an extension with the organization, and after Quinn Hughes was dealt, according to Elliotte Friedman on the latest episode of Oilers Now, talks picked up around the talented Swede.
I'm not sure what to make of Calgary, there's been a lot of noise...about Rasmus Andersson, I do think there's talk; it picked up after Quinn Hughes was dealt; hard to figure out the timeline. - Elliotte Friedman
This season, Andersson has tallied 9 goals and 28 points for an offensively inept Flames team, and given his abilities at both ends of the ice, it's easy to see why there's immense interest in him.
As of right now, it appears as though it's just a matter of time until Calgary deal Andersson, and with so much interest in him around the league, if the team do so, there could be a haul to be had for the 29-year old defenseman.
