Nazem Kadri's name is red-hot on the trade market right now, and while the team right now have no intention of moving him, five teams have emerged as landing spots.
The 34-year old is locked in for four more years on his current deal, and while that may be difficult for some teams to stomach, given that he's played all 82 games a year in his three seasons with the Flames, he remains a very valuable asset on the trade market.
As a result, Sportsnet have looked into the possibility of a Kadri trade, and in doing so they have unveiled these five teams as landing spots that make sense for the veteran centre: New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The latter is the most intriguing of all, as Maple Leafs fans have been talking about a potential reunion for quite some time, and while Kadri is aware of the chatter and has addressed it, thus far he's shown no willingness to waive his no-trade clause.
However, given that many expect the Flames to struggle in 2025/26 and beyond, keeping a 34-year old like Kadri who remains productive at both ends of the ice while playing winning, Stanley Cup Playoffs style hockey, it's safe to say that things could change very soon.
Ultimately, if it does change and Kadri becomes available, there could be more than just five teams interested, as he may end up being one of the top names available at the deadline if things do change.
