Nazem Kadri's name has been hot on the trade market this off-season, but according to Frank Seravalli, the Flames have absolutely no interest in moving him.
While the NHL off-season has been incredibly slow thus far, the rumour mill has been in overdrive, with Calgary Flames star Nazem Kadri being right at the centre of plenty of speculation in the past few months.
However, to this point, there's been very few signs that the Flames are motivated to move him, and in his latest update, NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has revealed a definitive update on the situation.
According to Seravalli, the Flames have no interest in moving Kadri, as the organization beyond GM Craig Conroy appear to have the desire to push for a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot, and with a lack of star power down the middle, Kadri is a key piece of this organization.
Last season, Kadri was the Flames MVP alongside goaltender
Dustin Wolf, tallying 35 goals and 67 points in 82 games played, and as a result, the 34-year old is one of the most in demand players in the league.
While the obvious connection for Kadri is his former team in Toronto,
the Montreal Canadiens reportedly have interest as well, and if he were truly available, even with a $7 million per season salary cap hit, there will be so much interest in him if he does become available.
Ultimately though, as of right now we can shut down the speculation, as the Flames have constantly shut down any talk of Kadri being available, and unless the team are offered a ridiculously high deal, that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon.
