Buffalo Sabres officially make NHL history with an embarrassing record
The Buffalo Sabres have had one of the longest playoff droughts in sports history and have made NHL history by missing the playoffs for a record 13th straight year.
Last night, the Buffalo Sabres fell to the Dallas Stars and were officially eliminated from playoff contention for the record 13th straight season.

Tied with the New York Jets (NFL) for the longest active playoff drought in North American professional sports.
When the Sabres last made the playoffs in 2011, their rookie forward Zach Benson was 6 years old.
While the Sabres are frustrated to have missed the playoffs yet again, there are many bright pieces for their future including Tage Thompson, Jack Quinn, JJ Peterka, Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power, Bowen Byram, and the aforementioned Benson.
There will almost certainly be changes coming in Buffalo this offseason and we will hope they can overcome their struggles and make a playoff run during the 2024-25 season.
