The Sabres have been playing at a high level as of late, and ahead of a key matchup against the Maple Leafs, they've recalled intriguing forward Josh Dunne.
The Buffalo Sabres started the 2025-26 season 0-3-0, with many feeling the team would once again implode after missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for 14 straight seasons heading into this one.
Now however, the team is 4-4-0 having won four of their last five games, with the offensive firepower showing off in that time, and after defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs in their last game, they do battle once more on Saturday in a massive Atlantic Division showdown.
Buffalo Sabres Recall Talented Young Forward
Ahead of the game however, the Sabres have made one move,
recalling talented young forward Josh Dunne from the AHL's Rochester Americans, as the team look to continue their red-hot play with more depth.
The 26-year old had 0 points in the two games he played with the Sabres earlier this season, but in two games with the Americans he tallied a goal and a +1 differential as he looks to finally establish himself as an NHLer.
For this one, he takes up a spot on the Sabres fourth line alongside the talented
Peyton Krebs, with the team looking to keep playing at a high level this season against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It's unclear if Dunne will find himself a permanent NHL role moving forward, but if he doesn't, he's a very good player for the Sabres to have and recall on short notice for a game such as this one.
