The Buffalo Sabres 2024/25 season has been a tough one, and now, the fans are taking their frustrations out on their own players with heavy boos during the game.
This season has simply been a disaster for the Buffalo Sabres, and while they came into the year with high hopes, they once again find themselves in the all too familiar eighth place in the Atlantic Division as their Stanley Cup Playoffs drought grows by one season.
Unfortunately, despite the promising young core, the team just haven't been able to take the necessary steps forward to be competitive, and the frustration is now well beyond boiling point with their fans.
That was brought out again on Tuesday, as the team gave up an early goal to
Brady Tkachuk with the Ottawa Senators in town, and while the playoffs are out of question, it's still frustrating after their great effort in Winnipeg over the weekend.
This time however, the fans weren't taking it anymore, as they unleashed immense frustration on one of their own players during a TV timeout, with the team honouring
Mattias Samuelsson and his 200th game with Buffalo.
While most would be hoping for a polite round of applause and appreciation for what he's done in Buffalo, the fans instead decided to boo the 25-year old blue liner in a shock moment that shows how fed up they are with the way the team has continually under performed on the ice.
Sure, Samuelsson hasn't been great in Buffalo, as many, not just him have struggled, and while it's easy to see why the fans would be frustrated, taking it out on one of their own players is certainly a very intriguing look for the fanbase.
