Brad Marchand, a Boston legend, was shockingly traded at the deadline, and now a fellow Boston icon has commented on the captain's departure.

Brad Marchand spent 16 years with the Boston Bruins before being traded at the deadline, and in a very emotional move, the former captain bid farewell to Boston with a very heartfelt gesture.
Now that the dust has settled, everyone is coming to terms with the fact that not only is Marchand no longer a Boston Bruin, but he now plays for their fierce rival, the Florida Panthers, as they look to chase their second straight Stanley Cup in 2025.
As a Boston sports legend, Marchand made a mark on the city that won't soon be forgotten, and after the deal, another icon in Boston in Rob Gronkowski commented on the former captain's departure.
"Yeah, I saw that man. Brad Marchand did so much for the city of Boston, too. He brought a championship there. And just a great dude overall. I met him just a few times when I was on the New England Patriots, just being up there, up in the city. What a great dude. Such a hockey dude, man."

On the Dudes on Dudes podcast, hosted by former Patriots teammate Julien Edelman, 'Gronk' gave Marchand plenty of credit for what he did in Boston, with very few people knowing what that means more than multiple Super Bowl winners Edelman and Gronkowski.
Despite taking a shot at Marchand's height, Gronkowski, like so many teammates and opponents of the former captain showered him with praise.
"And it's so wild seeing those guys because you meet them, and you're like, 'Man, how is this guy a professional athlete?' What is he like, 5-foot-8? His skill set is just so phenomenal. Like, how quick he is. He is a fighter. He'll go after anyone. He doesn't back down."

While he may not be liked by opposing players or fans, Marchand leaves an impressive legacy behind in Boston, and one day, there's no doubt he'll be recognized as one of the best Boston Bruins to have ever donned the iconic jersey.
