Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy has made a beautiful family post on social media only weeks after a scary incident in which he was struck in the face with a puck that required him to get facial surgery.

Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy had a frightening incident during Saturday's game against the divisional foe Montreal Canadiens in which he was struck in the face by a slap shot from Noah Dobson.
McAvoy has since undergone facial surgery and was placed on Injured Reserve by the Bruins.
Recently, McAvoy shared a heartwarming Thanksgiving post in which he thanked fans for their prayers and well wishes, while also thanking his wife Kiley.
Thanks to everyone who sent thoughts and prayers to us. Feeling so grateful to be home and together this Thanksgiving.

Most thankful for the glue that holds this family together and navigates us through every difficult time, we're so lucky you're ours kileymcavoy. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Kiley McAvoy also recently shared an update:

Charlie McAvoy Led All Bruins Defensemen In Ice Time Before His Injury

The good news for McAvoy is that he's expected to make a full recovery.
After the injury, Bruins coach Marco Sturm said that other defensemen on the team will need to help shoulder the load in McAvoy's absence, which will still be for an undetermined period of time.
He's doing good. He's recovering right now at home, and we still don't know how long he's going to be out for. Other guys have to step up, I think that's the bottom line. It can't be (Nikita) Zadorov and (Hampus) Lindholm.

Before his injury, McAvoy had 14 assists and was also the total ice time leader on the Bruins, who are now in 1st place in the Atlantic Division.
