During the Boston Bruins latest game, iconic announcer Jack Edwards brutally called out two NHL officials in a move that fans will find it hard to argue with.

Boston Bruins announcer Jack Edwards may be one of the most recognisable voices in the sport, and on Saturday when the team battled the Philadelphia Flyers, he didn't hold back.

During the game, he called out two officials, Michael Markovic and Eric Furlatt by name after they missed what he believed to be a blatant knee on knee penalty from the Flyers Erik Johnson.

"Eric Furlatt and Michael Markovic are the referees today, neither of them wears glasses on the ice" said Edwards in a mocking tone.

"Department of player safety ought to suspend the two refs," said Edwards with a laugh.

Plenty of fans have taken to criticizing the NHL officials in recent times, as they often miss crucial calls, seem to make very biased decisions and take way too long with reviews, but it feels different coming from an announcer. The Bruins would go on to lose the game 3-2, with the penalty on the play Jack Edwards was complaining about instead going to Brad Marchand, something that's likely to set him off even more.

Edwards faces plenty of criticism from fans all over social media, with some claiming that his announcing forces them to turn off games, but one thing is for sure, and that is that the veteran will always call it how he sees it. It's unclear whether or not he would face any type of consequences like players would for calling out officials, but it's very hard to argue with him in this situation.
