Elliotte Friedman confirms the Coyotes are moving to Salt Lake City
Tonight NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has dropped some major news regarding the future of the Arizona Coyotes. According to his sources, the team has officially informed the franchise will move to Salt Lake City.
In a post on X Elliotte Friedman announced the news that the Arizona Coyotes organization was informed today that the move to Salt Lake City is indeed happening.
There is word tonight the Arizona Coyotes players were informed in a meeting they are going to Utah. Players and staff may be headed to Salt Lake City right after Wednesday's game to check out the facilities and the city
The move for the Coyotes franchise comes after years of struggling to secure an arena to occupy in Arizona. A couple of days ago leaks began to come out that a move was imminent. In response to this news, players were asked about the move and were unaware at the time.
Clayton Keller gets candid about the impact the Salt Lake City relocation rumors have had on the Coyotes.
"Throughout this whole time, there hasn't been a whole lot of discussion on what's going on."
Devastating stuff. Now it sounds as though the team, staff, and players have been informed. Over the next couple of months, things will begin to heat up as a new team and fan base is created in Salt Lake City.
