Arizona Coyotes officially fire most of their remaining employees
The Arizona Coyotes relocated to Utah recently leaving many employees in danger of losing their jobs and unfortunately the Coyotes laid off most of their remaining employees.
When it was announced that the Arizona Coyotes would be relocating, thousands of fans and many Coyotes employees were distraught that their team would be heading to Utah.
Since the announcement, employees have continued to work for the Coyotes despite the fact that they do not currently have a franchise. Unfortunately, today it was announced that a large chunk of their staff was being let go.
Coyotes office staff just received an email from HR about meetings today between 2 and 3 PM.
Looks like lots of layoffs are coming/happening today.
The people who were laid off (a lot) were told they are employed until the end of the month and then will get a severance package that includes an amount equal to an additional paycheck along with healthcare for the month of July.
Many fans were quick to call out the package the Coyotes gave them as it was only giving them just under two months of pay.
Hopefully for these employees, one day the Coyotes can return but as it stands, they will need to make a few major moves to get them back to Arizona.
