Team Canada goes after Matthew Tkachuk after his viral chirps at Leon Draisaitl

The 2026 Olympic Games have been plenty of fun in hockey thus far, but now, the knockout stages have officially begun, and it's safe to say that things are only going to get better and more heated from here.

Before the knockouts began however, Matthew Tkachuk was all over social media for his chirps at Edmonton Oilers star Leon Draisaitl, stating that he is 'always the bridesmaid, never the bride', given that Tkachuk and the Panthers have beaten them in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals.

While plenty of Canadians don't have much love for Draisaitl, the country is in full support of anyone battling the United States at the moment, and as a result, CBC took to social media to clown Tkachuk in the best way possible.

Following Tkachuk's claims, the CBC posted a video titled 'This you?' about the Four Nations Face Off, which saw Draisaitl's Oilers teammate Connor McDavid ending the USA's hopes in the tournament when he picked up the OT winner in the gold medal game.

Sure, in the NHL, Tkachuk has bragging rights over Draisaitl and the Oilers, but this is a different ball game, and considering the lack of talent around Draisaitl, he should be commended for making Germany as competitive as they have been in this tournament.

Ultimately, this will likely all come down to the USA vs. Canada once more, and as of right now, it's the Canadians with bragging rights, and if they win it again, there will be plenty more chirps coming Tkachuk's way.
