Canada are looking to get through Czechia in the quarterfinals, but now the country is holding their breath after Sidney Crosby went down the tunnel.
Team Canada entered the 2026 Olympics as gold medal favourites, doing so with some of the biggest names in the hockey world, and as usual, they were lead by Penguins superstar captain Sidney Crosby.
Through the group stages, this team and the 38-year old Crosby dominated action, but in the quarterfinals, they're in a major battle against the very tough Czechia team.

However, in the second period, Canada are facing a 2-1 deficit, but now things have gotten even worse, as Sidney Crosby went down the tunnel after a brutal looking collision with Czechia's Martin Necas.
No. 87 was limping significantly after he came off the ice, and now, the entire country of Canada will be holding their breath as they await an update on their superstar captain following this injury.
This wasn't the first time that Crosby was taken down in this game either, as he was hit earlier in the game by Radko Gudas, as he has clearly been taking a beating in a must-win game for Canada as they look for the first best-on-best gold medal in the Olympics since 2014.
Even without Crosby, this is a team that's got the likes of Connor McDavid, Macklin Celebrini, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar and other stars, but given how much he means to this team as a leader, they need him on the ice, even if he's not at 100%.
As of right now, there was no clear serious injury for Crosby, but with Canada looking to fight back against an incredibly tough opponent, the players will be waiting just as much as the fans to see an update on their star captain.
