Milan turned into a nightmare today as Swiss star Kevin Fiala was stretchered off in a blowout loss to Canada.

The arena fell silent with just 2:50 left on the clock.
You never want to see a player go down like that.
And it hurts more because the result was already decided.
Fiala is the motor for this Swiss squad.
He was drafted 1st round, 11th overall by Nashville back in 2014.

Switzerland faces a brutal climb without their offensive leader

The Kings forward carries a premium price tag of $7.875M for a reason.
He has already piled up 18 goals and 22 assists for 40 points in 56 games this season.
That kind of production is almost impossible to replace mid-tournament.
He also has 34 penalty minutes and a minus-11 rating on the year.
But numbers don't matter when a player's health is at risk.
Los Angeles fans are holding their breath right now.
This Swiss dynamo is the heart of their top six.
Hockey is a secondary thought when a career is on the line.
