The OHL's Niagara IceDogs were forced to sit three of their most important players during a recent playoff game, thanks to their alleged off-ice behavior.

An unorthodox penalty was issued to the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League after alleged unruly behavior by several players on the team at the Landmark Cinemas at Niagara Pen Centre on March 25.
As a result, forwards Ryan Roobroeck and Kevin He along with goaltender Owen Flores were forced to sit for a full period during a recent playoff game against the Barrie Colts.
The OHL issued the following statement while announcing the disciplinary measure:
The Niagara IceDogs and the Ontario Hockey League have imposed disciplinary measures against players on the Niagara IceDogs Hockey Club resulting from a recent off-ice incident that saw multiple players behave in a fashion detrimental to the reputation and integrity of both the team and the OHL.

As a result, each player in the IceDogs lineup will be required to sit for one period of their first-round series against the Barrie Colts, a sanction that began in Game 1 of the series on Thursday, March 27.

This discipline reinforces the league's standard that such behaviour will not be tolerated, regardless of whether it occurs during the regular season or playoffs.

The Colts took a 5-1 lead over the IceDogs before they stormed back to tie the game; however, the Colts scored twice more to secure a 7-5 win and take a 2-0 series lead.
Afterward, IceDogs head coach Ben Boudreau declined to comment about the disciplinary measures and instead chose to focus on the game itself.
I'm not going to comment on anything along those lines in the media. I'm just going to talk about the hockey game so anything regarding outside of the hockey game, I'm not going to make a comment on, if that's OK.
