Tyler Myers is headed to his home state of Texas, as he will be traded to the Dallas Stars.

Myers has been more of a depth stabilizer than a driver this season, recording 1 goal and 7 assists for 8 points in 57 games.
Myers, who's known for his massive 6'8'' frame, will add toughness and meanness to Dallas' back-end. Olympians Thomas Harley and Miro Heiskanen lead the pack offensively, but the playoffs need a bit of everything.

Tyler Myers changes the Vancouver Canucks chessboard

The trade details are in.
Vancouver will retain 50% of Myers' salary, making his cap hit a very stomachable $1.5 million.
The Stars will send a second round pick in 2027 and a fourth round pick in 2029 to Vancouver.
The Stars are all-in for this season, in one of the toughest divisions in hockey. We will see if Myers helps them get past the Minnesota Wild, and the Colorado Avalanche.
A second and a fourth feels very reasonable for a player like Myers; he's a coveted right-shot, and is known as a great locker room presence.
Myers is expected to slot into a third-pairing role, adding size and experience to Dallas' right side behind Miro Heiskanen.
It will be interesting to see if Dallas has anything else in the works; they have Tyler Seguin's full $9.85 million in salary to use, after he was assigned to season-ending LTIR last week.
