Ottawa Senators trade goalie to the Colorado Avalanche
The Ottawa Senators have traded depth goalie Kevin Mandolese to the Colorado Avalanche. Draft picks were also sent each way.
The Avalanche will also be receiving the Senators 7th round pick in 2026, and they are sending Ottawa their 6th round pick in that same draft. This Senators will be able to clear some salary from the cap with this move, as they are not taking on any players.
Roster update: The #Sens have acquired a 26 sixth-round pick from @Avalanche in exchange for a 26 seventh-round pick and goaltender Kevin Mandolese.
Kevin Mandolese last played in the NHL in the 2022-23 season for the Sens, appearing in three games and putting up a stellar .916 save percentage in those outings. Now that the Sens have just signed Mads Sogaard to a contract extension, and with the addition of Linus Ullmark, as well as still having Anton Forsberg, there was simply no room for Mandolese to fit in.
