The Leafs are on the hunt for victory and are facing a big decision at this year's trade deadline. They're trying to strengthen their blue line and are weighing their options on whether to trade away their promising young talent to achieve that goal.
Elliotte Friedman has reported that there's been interest in the Leafs' prospects Matthew Knies, Easton Cowan, and Fraser Minten. However, so far, the Leafs are not entertaining these trade discussions.
"The one thing I do know is that people have asked them about Knies, Cowan, and Minten, and they have said no to this point"
The Maple Leafs Will Need to Use Other Assets to Make Deals At the Deadline
If the Leafs don't want to part ways with their top prospects, they'll need to move other assets. Here's a few options that Brad Treliving has.
They could deal their 2024 first round pick, one of their three goalies, or a forward.
Stay tuned as a lot of action could go down in the next few hours.
