The Chicago Blackhawks and Arizona Coyotes played a game of the NHL's cellar dwellers on Tuesday night. Even though both teams are seemingly fighting for the first overall pick, Blackhawks star forward Connor Bedard has a target on his back for opponents to finish their check.
Big hit on Bedard as he admires his pass on the offense zone
Nine minutes in to the first period with the teams tied 0-0 Bedard cut into the Arizona zone. He pulled up along the boards and sent a pass up to the point. Now that play is all well and good, but then he watched his pass go back to the point and was not paying attention to the players around him. Matthew Dumba made him pay as a result.

Bedard needs to remember he is a target to get hit every game as oppositions want to limit his time and space, as well as hit him whenever they can to throw him off of his game.
Dumba clearly knew who he was hitting and Bedard needs to learn that in the NHL players will hit you far more often than they will in Junior.
The game Tuesday was a surprising affair between the two teams
The Chicago Blackhawks won the game Tuesday night 4-2 over Arizona, snapping the Hawks' 22-game franchise record long losing streak. It came on the back of going 4 for 5 on the powerplay, while being out shot 39-32. In the game you could tell the Blackhawks wanted the game more than the Coyotes. Bedard also had two assists in the game to help his team.
