Massive hit on Quinn Hughes leads to game changing momentum swing in must win game
Forward Ross Colton answered the call with a thundering hit followed by a couple of extra shots on superstar Quinn Hughes that left Hughes struggling in discomfort.
While Hughes did stay in the game this hit seemed to be a massive swing in momentum overall as the Avalanche would really turn on the pressure getting back to back goals to send the game to overtime.
With momentum now fully swung the other way the Avalanche would quickly close out the series in overtime on a decisive goal from Brett Kulak.
Now, that hit will be looked back upon as one of the moments that turned the tide in this close series between the two sides.
With the win, the Avalanche now await the winner between the Anaheim Ducks and Vegas Golden Knights to determine their Western Conference Final opponent.
