Department of Player Safety confirms Max Domi's suspension fate
Last night Maple Leafs forward Max Domi punched the back of Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy's head leaving fans concerned that Domi would be suspended and we now know his fate on whether he will be suspended or not.
With any rivalry playoff series like the Leafs/Bruins series that is currently ongoing, things will get a bit chippy. After the whistle last night, Max Domi punched the back of the head of Charlie McAvoy.
The ole punch in the back of the head.
Both Domi and McAvoy received matching penalties on the play but it is clear Domi did more than McAvoy.
The play left Bruins fans wondering if Domi would be suspended for the game two matchup between the two original six franchises.
Sois DOMI intensionally hitting McAvoy behind the head with his elbownot once, but twice.
Why is this not a suspension?
We now have our answer on whether or not Domi will be suspended or not by George Parros and the NHL DoPS.
Because 5pm has come and gone, #LeafsForever Max Domi will not face supplementary discipline from the @NHLPlayerSafety for this play!
It is clear that the refs and DoPS will let a lot go during the playoffs and this is likely just the start of what's to come.
