Frank Seravalli is known as one of the NHL's top insiders, but now he's taken a surprising new role as a coach with Germantown Academy High.
Beyond Elliotte Friedman, Frank Seravalli is arguably the biggest insider in the NHL, breaking plenty of news over the past few years for Daily Faceoff as he's become highly respected around the league.
One thing we didn't expect to see however is Seravalli behind a bench,
but that's exactly what's happening soon, as it has been announced that he will take over as the coach at Germantown High Academy in Pennsylvania.
The Philadelphia native has been with Daily Faceoff since 2021 after previously working for TSN, but now, he's heading back to the United States to join Germantown Academy in his home state, a move that came as a major shock to everyone in hockey.
Seravalli has been teasing something new however, as he noted that he was looking to move on from hockey coverage and Daily Faceoff in the near future, and now we know exactly why, as he's taking on a key role much closer to home.
The 37-year old has been a fan of the program for so long, going so far as to state that this is where his love of the sport began as he would regularly attend games there in his youth.
"That's where my love for hockey began and those memories remain a powerful source of inspiration."
Now, after such a long time in a role as an insider, we will see how Seravalli can perform behind the bench, and while it's not a very high profile role, given how high profile he is in the hockey media world, there's no doubting that this will bring a little extra attention to the program.
