Bo Horvat has excelled with Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship, but now he's officially done from the tournament after suffering an injury.

Through six games at the 2025 IIHF World Championship, Team Canada sit in second place in Group A with a 5-1 record, only led by the undefeated Team Sweden, with Canada set to book their place in the playoff rounds very soon.
Unfortunately, they'll now be without a key piece of their lineup, as it has been announced that New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat will miss the remainder of the tournament with an unfortunate injury.
Thankfully for Horvat and the Islanders, it's not expected to be a long-term injury, as he's expected to be fully healthy for the start of training camp, but after his hot start to the tournament, it's definitely an unfortunate situation.
Through those six games, Horvat has tallied four goals and eight points, proving in a big way that he belongs on the international stage next to some big names, but now, he'll miss the remainder of the tournament as Team Canada look to chase gold.
In his place, top 2025 NHL Draft prospect Porter Martone, who played for Canada in the pre-tournament friendlies will make his official debut with the team as he has a big role to play in the rest of the World Championship.
Unfortunately, this is a very tough break for Horvat, who will now sit back and watch as Team Canada look to finish their strong start with a gold medal, but given his performance through six games, there's no doubting he put his name in the minds of those selecting the team for the 2026 Olympic Games.
