Patrik Laine's latest viral video all but confirms his next move

Footage shows the winger skating in Florida while still wearing his Montreal Canadiens gear, sharing the ice with Panthers regulars.

Aaron Ekblad and Alexey Toropchenko were both spotted training alongside Laine, and the Finnish sniper already has history in the building.

He and Aleksander Barkov have a close relationship dating back years, giving Laine an existing connection inside Florida's room.

Panthers coach Paul Maurice adds another layer, since he coached Laine during his early Winnipeg seasons and knows exactly what his shot can do on a power play.

The equipment itself is the most interesting wrinkle. Laine training in Canadiens colors suggests Montreal has not been fully ruled out, even as he logs offseason hours with a different organization entirely.

Nothing about the video confirms a deal with either team, but it does show a player keeping his options open while building relationships that could matter once camps open.

Florida is not the only club in the mix. New York has been consistently linked to Laine throughout the summer, with general manager Chris Drury reportedly still hunting for another forward before camp begins.

Reports have floated a short-term, incentive-laden contract as the most realistic path, the kind of prove-it deal that would let the Rangers add a power play threat without long-term risk.

Laine's health remains the swing factor. He has not cleared 60 games in five seasons, and last year ended after just five appearances following core muscle surgery. Whichever team signs him is betting on the shot returning, not the workload.

For now, all three destinations remain speculation, but the calendar is closing in fast.
