Sidney Crosby and Nikita Kucherov just got a playoff rumor jolt, and the real story is how the opening weekend could tilt four East series.

The bracket is not rumor anymore. Pittsburgh faces Philadelphia, Buffalo gets Boston, Carolina draws Ottawa, and Tampa Bay gets Montreal.
What is still loose on April 16 is the clock.
That matters more than fans admit. Start times shape rest, travel, goalie prep, and the TV spotlight each room carries into Game 1.
Pittsburgh against Philadelphia at 12:30 would feel nasty right away.
That matchup is built for chaos because both clubs finished with 98 points, but the Penguins closed as the Metro 2 seed and hold home ice.
Buffalo opening at 3:00 would be a gift. The Sabres won the Atlantic at 50-23-9, and an early home start keeps that crowd loud before the building has time to tighten up.

Nikita Kucherov puts Tampa Bay Lightning under pressure

This is where the temperature jumps. Tampa Bay and Montreal are tied at 106 points on the surface, but Tampa owns the higher divisional seed and home ice on the back of more wins.
Fans are right to read this as a matchup about experience against speed.
Tampa finished 50-26-6 with 290 goals for and 231 against. Montreal finished 48-24-10 and gave up 256, a gap that points straight at Tampa's edge between the pipes and on the blue line.
A Sunday matinee in Tampa would push the Lightning to control the pace early, then force Montreal to answer fast before the series swings to Bell Centre noise. That is the real pressure point heading into April 18.
