NHL commissioner Bill Daly shares exciting information on the 2028 Hockey World Cup

Now, all attention turns to the 2026 Olympic Games, which are set to take place this February with all of the best players from around the world coming together to represent their countries.

After that, things will be focused on the 2028 World Cup of Hockey, and now, more details have been revealed on that event by Deputy Commissioner of the NHL, Bill Daly.

According to Daly, the event will be hosted in one European city and one North American city, with the final set to take place in North America during this edition of the Hockey World Cup.

While it's not been decided on exactly which city from each continent will host the tournament, Daly reveals that an announcement is likely to come after the Olympics, with the NHL's return to best-on-best hockey action seemingly breathing new life into the international game.

According to a report from TSN, both Edmonton and Calgary are among the cities in North America to bid on the event, and with Boston and Montreal having success as hosts of the Four Nations, there are many options both there and in Europe, but one thing is for sure, and that is if all the best players are there, this should be a hit event regardless.
