We all know the NHL Department of Player Safety does some questionable things when it comes to hand out decisions on incidents around the NHL that have us scratching our heads or wondering about favouritism.

The NHL department of player safety continued its inconsistency on calls during Last night's game in Boston between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs. The two teams have quite the rivalry, and with the Bruins trailing 4-1 with 5 minutes to play Maple Leafs Ilya Lyubushkin nailed Bruins Taylor Hall with a solid hit.

Hall already frustrated losing 4-1 got up and retaliated after the hit, by sucker punching Lyubushkin in the side of the head injury him. Hall was given a two minute roughing penalty on the play.

Most figured Hall would be suspended after this, but that wasn't the case. Hall instead received a $5,000 fine from the Department of Player Safety causing quite a stir amongst the hockey community.

Brad Marchand was suspended for a sucker punch this season, player have been suspended in the past for it as well. But Hall only receives a fine which is equivalent to most people buy a coffee.
