Hockey Analyst Believes Connor Mcdavid Is No Longer The Best Player In the World

Though some would argue that it's Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby and his 3 Stanley cups and not to mention leading Canada to numerous gold medals.

So Crosby could arguably be the best, but according to hockey analyst Dom Luszczyszyn of the Athletic, he revealed who he believes is the best players in the World and it isn't Sidney Crosby or Connor McDavid. Infact this might shock you, Luszczyszyn reveals that it's Toronto Maple leafs star Auston Matthews

This comes from Athletic's Dom Luszczyszyn who introduced NHL player cards, a quick digestible data from all 32 teams in the League, with what Luszczyszyn describes as;

«Player profile dashboards, quick at-a-glance summaries of relevant player stats basic or advanced in an easily digestible manner through data visualization."

This idea from Dom Luszczyszyn allows fans to dig into all the data and stats. From this Luszczyszyn revealed that Auston Matthews is King from his statistics.

Though from his viewpoint Luszczyszyn believes Matthews is the best but if you were to ask many of the hockey Insiders such as Elliotte Friedman, Jeff Marek, Pierre LeBrun, or Darren Dreger they, like most players would agree it's Connor McDavid.

McDavid was drafted 1st overall in 2015 this season, McDavid has 36 goals and 62 assists with a plus 16 rating this season.

Matthews was drafted 1st overall in 2016 and has 49 goals and 36 assists with a plus 11 rating this season.

Personally I believe, like most do that Edmonton Oilers Captain Connor McDavid is the best player in the game today, but the Toronto Maple Leafs Auston Matthews is up there too.
